Are you a dynamic leader and operations/people manager with Sales OR Sales/Product Training?

 

This position is responsible for defining, creating, and implementing strategies for the design and execution of training programs that support the Company focus on employee, customer, and industry training.

 

You will lead a staff responsible for the development and delivery of sales and customer/industry training curriculum, both “in-class” as well as via “continuing education” courses.  You will work across the company to support the development and implementation of other business critical training programs partnering with functions like HR, Compliance, Marketing, and Customer Care as needed.

 

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Superb management and leadership skills with a prior management experience.
  • 7+ years of operational, administrative and people leadership experience preferably in a sales, training, engineering, operations, or marketing capacity.
  • Be a true people motivator!
  • Excellent communication skills are critical.
  • Mechanical Construction related products a real plus!

 

The role:

  • Work alongside sales leaders/human resource teams to support the strategic direction and execution of sales training on a global basis, with focus on “in-class” and “continuous education” sales employee development.
  • Support product commercialization efforts by working with Marketing, Product Management, and Sales Teams.  This includes the building of training materials and platforms to support key product and program launches.
  • Lead efforts on the development of influential training curriculum (customer, industry, academia) to drive added awareness of Company solutions externally.  Maintain and build Company’s “accredited” class platform.  This includes maintaining Company’s IACET certification along with identification/application for other key global educational certification bodies.
  • Manage the Company Learning Management System (LMS), including: course catalog, syllabi, and learning paths.  Lead Team to help determine strategic future for online learning at Company.
  • Work alongside other cross-functional leaders as needed to support training and development needs of other business functions including, but not limited to, Engineering, Product Management, Marketing, HR, Operations – determine right areas of focus/need to support overall business growth objectives.
  • Identify and support conventional and newer/non-conventional training technologies to maximize sales team learning potential close to the point of sale (eg. MS SharePoint, apps, digital solutions, etc.)
  • Work closely with Marketing and Corporate Communications Teams to manage/build value in the “Company University” brand.  Partner with Facilities, Corporate Communications, and Marketing functions to ensure proper upkeep of global training facilities.
  • Manage department team of nine, prioritizing efforts in line with global business strategy.  Oversee attraction, development, and retention efforts for the training department.
  • Responsible for establishing and managing annual training budget and expense management.  Identify and manage areas for improvement and associated ROI.  Manage third party vendors as needed.

Desired qualification:

  • 7+ years of operational, administrative and people leadership experience preferably in a sales, training, engineering, operations, or marketing capacity.
  • Strong leadership and collaborative people management skills.
  • Hands-on, high-energy and willingness to do what it takes to get the job done.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels inside and outside the organization.
  • Excellent project management skills. Flexible and able to prioritize multiple project assignments or tasks simultaneously, respond to changes, and work comfortably in a rapidly changing environment
  • Proven ability to deliver high quality results within project deadlines and demonstrated follow-through on action plans and projects.
  • High level of initiative…self-starter, proactive, works quickly and accurately.  Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within and across the company.
  • Familiarity with various delivery methods of training (i.e. instructor-led, web-based, e-learning, and micro learning).
  • Minimum proficiency in MS Office platforms; Desired state of working knowledge and/or ability to understand various relevant training software platforms including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Lectora, Articulate, Adobe Captivate, and Flash.
  • Willing and able to travel as needed.
